Inheriting Troubled Waters

8 hrs

Similar to the Assuming Command course, this course focuses on the intricate skills necessary to “turn around” a unit, bureau, division, or even an entire agency. The skills necessary to reverse lethargy, abandonment, abusive or toxic leadership, and/or lackluster leadership and/or management all require a strong skill set focused on both task orientation and tremendous human resource tools. This is an 8-hour stand-alone course that can a component of the Line Supervision Course, if desired by the client.

Understanding the issues related to establishing an environment of trust, individual and organizational responsibility for personal achievement, empathy, leadership, delegation, accountability, and strong human resource skills can set the stage for remarkable “comebacks,” oftentimes doing so with the exact same personnel.

Recognition of benchmarks for positive movement of personnel, and the organization, can be critical in knowing when to apply more direction, to allow for both delegation and self-assumption of responsibility for success.
